Computer-Aided Technology
Program Overview
Computer-Aided Technology AAS program is designed to prepare students for in-demand careers in technology. The Computer-Aided Drafting/Design (CAD) and Geographic Information Systems (GIS) programs afford students quality education that students can immediately apply in industry. The program leverages experience from industry professionals and a state of the art Tech Fab Lab (Tech Fab Lab – Oklahoma City Community College) to provide a rigorous learning environment.
Upon successful completion of the Computer Aided Technology Program at Oklahoma City Community College, students will be able to:
- Create and interpret technical drawings and models using industry‑standard computer‑aided design (CAD) software.
- Apply CAT skills to real‑world projects, supporting manufacturing, engineering, and design workflows.
- Demonstrate workplace‑ready skills, including accuracy, problem‑solving, and effective communication in technical environments.
- Create, view, and manage maps and spatial data using geographic information systems software.
- Analyze geographic information to support planning, decision‑making, and problem‑solving in real‑world settings.
- Apply GIS skills in professional environments, demonstrating accuracy, technical proficiency, and effective communication.
- Operate unmanned vehicles safely and effectively, following industry standards, safety guidelines and prepare for FAA Part 107 licensure.
- Use unmanned systems technology to collect and interpret data for applications such as inspection, mapping, or monitoring.
- Demonstrate professional and technical readiness for entry‑level work in unmanned vehicle and emerging technology fields.
