About

I started my healthcare career as a medic in the Army National Guard, where I was inspired to go to nursing school.  I graduated with my BSN from the University of Oklahoma College of Nursing in 1998, and then with my MS in Nursing Education in 2008. I completed my DNP in Nursing Education from Arkansas State University in 2025. 

In addition to teaching in-person, hybrid and online courses over the past 15 years, I am a practicing perioperative nurse and have been a Certified PeriOperative Nurse (CNOR) since 2008. I am also a Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) and enjoy helping students achieve their nursing education goals. 

I live in Oklahoma City and am an Oklahoma Sooners and Oklahoma City Thunder fan. My husband is also a perioperative RN who adjuncts in clinical teaching. We have a son who lives in Savannah, GA, two cats, and a dog. We enjoy the outdoors, sports, travel, the arts, and music.
