Employees of TRIO at Oklahoma City Community College.

TRIO is a set of federally funded college opportunity programs that motivate and support students from disadvantaged backgrounds in their pursuit of a college degree. More than 800,000 low-income, first-generation students and students with disabilities — from sixth grade through college graduation — are served by over 3,100 programs nationally.

Student Support Services

Student Support Services (SSS) provide opportunities for academic development, assist students with basic college requirements, and motivate students toward the successful completion of their postsecondary education. SSS programs provide academic tutoring, personal counseling, mentoring, financial guidance, and other supports necessary for educational access and retention.

Guidance for Realizing Individual Transformation

The mission of the Educational Opportunity Centers Program is to provide services for adults desiring to pursue their education beyond high school. The center’s goal is to increase the number of adults in the surrounding areas enrolling in colleges and universities.

Upward Bound

Upward Bound (UB) is an educational student assistance program. The purpose of Upward Bound is to help students acquire the skills and motivation necessary to succeed in high school and in education beyond high school. Upward Bound provides intensive mentoring and support for students as they prepare for college entrance exams and tackle admission applications, financial aid, and scholarship forms.
