Goals
The WLCC will strive to accomplish the following:
- Increase the knowledge of languages and cultures among our students, faculty, staff, and community members.
- Promote understanding and sensitivity to other cultures.
- Promote and facilitate the study of languages and cultures.
- Support opportunities for students to practice language skills.
- Provide cultural information and intercultural communication protocol to community members.
- Provide language resources to prepare people for international and global engagement.
- Support international and multilingual populations in learning English and gaining knowledge of American culture.
- Support the use of learning technologies for the study of languages and cultures.
- Connect people locally and internationally.
- Collaborate with faculty to support events that foster cultural dialogue among students and community members.
- Support students who are taking courses that focus on world cultures.
- Support awareness of travel鈥慹nhanced courses and study鈥慳broad experiences for students, faculty, staff, and community members.
