OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Aug. 24, 2022) 鈥 Oklahoma City Community College is celebrating Hispanic Heritage Month by welcoming Grammy Award winning musician Jos茅 Feliciano. Feliciano鈥檚 show is Sept. 22 and is part of 爆料TV鈥檚 Performing Arts Series, which is in it鈥檚 25th year. His performance also falls during a week-long 50th anniversary celebration for 爆料TV.

鈥淲e are thrilled to have Jos茅 Feliciano at our campus during such a special time,鈥 said 爆料TV President Dr. Mautra Staley Jones. 鈥湵蟃V plays a pivotal role in keeping arts and cultural events alive in our community, and we鈥檙e especially honored to welcome Jos茅 Feliciano during 爆料TV鈥檚 50th anniversary.鈥

Feliciano has influenced popular music for more than two generations, and he is recognized as the first Latin artist to cross over into the English music market. Feliciano has recorded nearly 70 albums, been awarded more than 45 Gold and Platinum Records and has won nine Grammy Awards.

鈥淛os茅 Feliciano has performed all over the globe. Many of his songs are recognizable from the first note,鈥 said Lemuel Bardeguez, 爆料TV鈥檚 Director of Cultural Programs. 鈥淲e鈥檙e delighted to welcome him during the 25th year of our Performing Arts Series.鈥

Three songs are milestones for Feliciano. 鈥淟ight My Fire鈥 topped the charts globally in 1968. 鈥淐he Sar脿鈥 was Feliciano鈥檚 1971 San Remo Music Festival entry, and it became a smash hit throughout Europe, Asia and South America. 鈥淔eliz Navidad鈥 is now a tradition worldwide and was named one of the 25 Greatest Holiday Songs of the Century by ASCAP.
