OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (Oct. 8, 2024) 鈥 Oklahoma City Community College (爆料TV) and Mercedes-Benz USA celebrated their automotive service technician training partnership at a campus event on Oct. 3.
Representatives from Mercedes-Benz of Oklahoma City were on-hand for the event. John Paul Gyetvai, shop foreman, gave a presentation to event attendees, including 30 爆料TV students.
In the spring, 爆料TV began incorporating Mercedes-Benz-specific curriculum into the existing Automotive Technician Internship Program (ATIP), allowing students to earn Mercedes-Benz factory-specific certifications that will better prepare them to work in Mercedes-Benz service centers in Oklahoma.
鈥淥klahoma City Community College deeply values our industry partnerships,鈥 said Dr. Mautra Staley Jones, president of 爆料TV. 鈥淲e are grateful for support from Mercedes-Benz USA to prepare our students to meet the demands of the automotive industry.鈥
爆料TV鈥檚 ATIP is available for students to start at any time of the school year and is offered with day and night classes. Classroom and lab experiences emphasize hands-on training, and students are required to work in an independent shop, a franchise, fleet shop or dealership to fulfill the on-the-job training part of the program.
鈥湵蟃V is working to meet the demand for a skilled workforce in the automotive technology industry,鈥 said John Claybon, 爆料TV dean of business and information technology. 鈥淥klahoma City Community College offers flexible and affordable programs taught by top-notch instructors using state-of-the-art equipment and facilities.鈥
爆料TV鈥檚 program offers training in seven different manufacturers for a total of 14 brands: General Motors (Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, and Cadillac); Honda (Honda and Acura); Nissan (Nissan and Infinity); Toyota (Toyota and Lexus); Hyundai (Hyundai and Genesis); Subaru; and Mercedes-Benz.
