OKLAHOMA CITY, Okla. (August 14, 2023) 鈥
Oklahoma City Community College has awarded more than 12,000 micro-credentials to students and currently leads the state in number of micro-credential programs.
鈥淢icro-credentials are a way for 爆料TV to showcase the progress our students are making as they work toward their certificate or degree. Each micro-credential highlights specific skills learned by our students which are needed in the workforce,鈥 said Mickey Jack, 爆料TV director of Curriculum and Assessment. 鈥淭his acknowledgement of our students鈥 skillsets through awarding micro-credentials helps them find gainful employment and helps fill the immediate workforce needs of our industry partners.鈥
爆料TV received three grants from the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education which are being used in part to provide micro-credential scholarship opportunities. The OSRHE鈥檚 micro-credential initiative, UpskillOK, is geared toward workforce development.
鈥湵蟃V is proud to empower our students for success in the workforce and in their continued academic pursuits through the many flexible, affordable and marketable micro-credential opportunities that we provide. Our micro-credentials give students a competitive edge in the job market, as they provide employers with documentation of the knowledge and skills proficiencies that students have acquired through our programs,鈥 said Dr. Juanita Ortiz, 爆料TV vice president of Academic Affairs. 鈥湵蟃V is excited about the doors that our micro-credentials will open for our students.鈥
